Louisville Police Respond to Gunfire Report, Fatally Shoot Suspect

On Thursday night in Louisville, Kentucky, Louisville police officers responded to reports of shots fired and ultimately fatally shot a man. The incident took place in the vicinity of Frankfort Avenue, a well-known residential area with nearby restaurants close to downtown Louisville. Police Chief Jacquelyn Gwinn-Villaroel stated that officers arrived at the scene at approximately 10 p.m. Shortly after their arrival, the officers reported being fired at. In response, they confirmed shooting the suspect, resulting in his downfall.

Immediate medical attention was provided to the man at the scene before he was taken to the University of Louisville hospital. Tragically, he was later pronounced dead. Gwinn-Villaroel described the suspect as a Caucasian male in his thirties, refraining from disclosing any further identification details. Fortunately, no one else was harmed during the incident.

As investigations progress, Gwinn-Villaroel mentioned that additional information might be disclosed on Friday. She spoke to reporters near the scene on Thursday night but declined any questions.
