Biden Expects Meeting with Xi Jinping Amid Growing Strains in U.S.-China Relations
In an effort to address the strained diplomatic relations between the United States and China, President Joe Biden expressed his anticipation for a meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping in the upcoming autumn. This announcement came during a joint press conference with Prime Minister Fumio Kishida and South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol, following their three-way talks at Camp David.
Biden and Xi previously crossed paths at the Group of 20 summit on Bali last year, and the next meeting has the potential to occur during the sidelines of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation meeting.
