Giuliani Faces RICO Charges, Former Mobsters React
Rudy Giuliani, once known for his prosecution of mobsters in the 1980s, is now facing RICO charges, the very same tool he used against them. Alongside former President Donald Trump and his associates, Giuliani has been indicted for allegedly attempting to overturn Georgia’s 2020 election results. Interestingly, some of the mobsters Giuliani had targeted in the past are reportedly celebrating his indictment. Defense attorneys representing members of prominent crime families have revealed that their clients are thrilled by the news.
On the other hand, not all former mobsters share this sentiment. John Alite, a former hitman for the Gambino crime family and a Trump supporter, finds the charges against Giuliani disgusting and questions why individuals like himself are facing legal actions while Trump’s associates are also dealing with similar troubles.
Former New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio, who witnessed Giuliani’s rise in the city’s political landscape, describes the situation as remarkable. De Blasio comments on the irony of Giuliani’s journey from prosecuting mobsters to finding himself entangled in his own legal issues driven by self-obsession and political ambition.
