During an interview on MSNBC, former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi conveyed her annoyance when host Andrea Mitchell raised the topic of House GOP members considering impeachment proceedings against President Joe Biden. Pelosi, who had previously led impeachment proceedings against former President Donald Trump, dismissed the idea of impeaching Biden, describing it as a mere distraction tactic. She went on to criticize Republicans for lacking substantial proposals and stated that they have “nothing to offer the American people.”

Mitchell persisted in questioning Pelosi about the push for impeachment by House Republicans, reminding Pelosi of her own cautious approach to impeachment with Trump. Although Pelosi attempted to steer clear of the question, she eventually responded by highlighting the economic achievements of the Biden administration, such as job reports and low unemployment rates. Pelosi accused the GOP of using impeachment as a means to divert attention from these accomplishments.

Expressing her confidence in the Democrats in Congress, Pelosi stated that they are determined to regain control of the House in the upcoming election in order to avoid wasting time on frivolous matters. She also expressed her hope for the Republican Party to rediscover its core values and not become a “cult” following a leader who disrespects the law, presumably referring to Trump.
